Welcome to the JoomlaBeacon, an A - Z guide for the benefits of YOUR Joomla! web site / blog.
You might be thinking - YAJS (Yet Another Joomla Site ) since there are a lot of sites out there about Joomla!, but the JoomlaBeacon will contain parts that I have not seen much about on the Joomla! sites :: information about how to monetize your Joomla! site, how to advertise it so that you will get traffic, etc. This will be covered in addition to all my other tutorials, tips, tricks, and articles about Joomla!
This web site will be mostly directed towards users of Joomla! CMS, but many of the articles you will end up finding here can be used on any web sites/blogs.
Please enjoy, and please do NOT hesitate to give me any feedback through comments, e-mails, etc.

Who Is TJ?
Hello there my friend. My name is Terje Abrahamsen, but everyone calls me TJ. I guess it is a little bit difficult to roll an "R" on the tongue for most Americans ( :-) ), so it has become TJ for short. My day hours are spent in my job as a Data Warehouse Engineer in the Data Warehouse team in one of the large MLM (Multi Level Marketing) companies in Utah. Among my responsibilities in the Data Warehouse team are QA, be technical resourse, be a PL/SQL and SQL "mentor" (resource and teacher), and developer of some of the most advanced analysis that are presented to the upper management in my company. Within my team they call me the "bridge", since I have a central role in the team between the ETL developers and the business analysts.Business Objects is also a part of my daily day job. I am also responsible for the PL/SQL programming on our distributor contests.
After work a lot of my time is used on my Joomla! based blogs. In addition to my Oracle® blog, orablogger.net, joomlabeacon.net is my main blog. Here I blog about things I want to share with you as a Joomla! entrepreneur. Please, do not hesitate to contact me (see contact information at bottom right) if you have any ideas for what I should cover, or for any comments you might have. You are more than welcome to leave comments wherever you want on my blog, using the comment fields. And, also - you are of course also welcome to share the information on my blog with friends or colleagues. :-)
The Back-To-Nature Guy
Although my favourite hobbies are performed or practiced infront of the computer, there is a life away from the mouse and the keyboard as well.
Privately I spend my time together with my closest family, work on our excavator making a two-three miles long mountain road on our 400+ acres property, cut firewood, or just purely enjoy God's beautiful nature.
My wife and I consider ourselves back-to-nature-people...so much that we are planning on blogging about it in our very unfinished blog BackToEdenOnline.net. Our interests are things like living off the grid...but with an Internet connection through satellite of course ( :-) ), health, and in general how to live a good life together with the nature.
During the summer most of my spare time is used to try to finish the road I am making myself on our property. Above you can see a bit of the round, with our Golden Retriver, Duke, in the picture.
To be able to finish the road we invested in our own excavator in 2006/2007.
It sure can be frustrating to move all those darn rocks sometimes... And...the work raises the adrenaline level quite a bit sometimes when you are falling trees that are 2-3' in diameter with the machine, etc. And, especially interesting it is when a small tree comes in the front window (that used to be there...) in the cab and you have your lap filled with shattered glass..
I now consider my self an avid excavator user/driver. And as in everything I do, my personal motto is always: "If something has been done by someone else before I know it is possible for me too".
I really hope you enjoy my joomlabeacon.net blog, and I hope to hear from you.
Please also take some time to check out my other sites:
- OraBlogger.net - A blog about my passion for software development with Oracle.
- BackToEdenOnline - A blog about my wife's and my passion for being back to the nature, etc.
